León de Alva

Artist of overflowing imagination, tireless creator of magical worlds, big eyes and cosmic smiles that transports everyone who travels in his paintings to a playful world, of happy dreams that come true.

León was born in Mexico D.F. in 1963 surrounded by the monumental murals of Carlos Mérida and grew under the influence of his uncles and teachers Ramón Alva de la Canal, precursor of the muralist movement and Ramón Sánchez who worked alongside Orozco, Siqueiros and Rivera.

Shortly after the 1985 earthquake destroyed the murals that adorned his childhood, León Alva decided to leave the city to live by the sea and thus become the most prolific Cancunian painter with an uninterrupted career of more than 30 years.

Alva has participated in more than 40 solo and group exhibitions in cities such as New York, Miami, Osaka, Geneva, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Havana, Montreal, Bologna, Paris, and Mexico D.F. and all his work has been scrupulously documented.

Currently, León has his art gallery at the Le Basilic Restaurant of the Fiesta Americana Grand Hotel.

We are pleased to say that it is part of the zentik family, not only admire a work of art, come and stay in one, coming to valladolid yucatan to live the Zentik experience
